“Eating local is important to me because you know what the food has been through, the farm’s practices, if it's an ethical source. Most of the farms are really transparent. You can just drive out there and see everything, so if they’re doing something crappy, you’re gonna see it.
Without the co-op there’d be a lot less access to local produce and local meat, local personal care stuff. I don’t know where else people would go. That would take money away from local producers, less money back into the local economy, fewer cheap local options. Takes away citizens’ access to it but also farmers’ and local producers’ outlets to make money.”
